Hi my name is Airah, 24 yrs old and currently living in Staten Island, NY. Born and raised in the Philippines. Moved here in New York 2 years ago... being away from home is the hardest yet biggest decision i did my whole entire life... its definitely hard being away from your friends and love ones and it get's lonely sometimes.. New York is not the place I'm used to although i grew up in Manila which is the main city back in the Philippines. I struggled at first no friends, no job and don't know places.. That's when i start doing make-up, although i been doing make-up ever since i was 12 (yes i know its young) but being part of a theater group it is something you need to do.. I knew then that i have a special heart for make-up.
At first my friends like and keep on commenting on my pictures every time i post a picture of my make-up. And most of them asked me how i did it.. so i made my first "make-up tutorial" and posted it on FB. I got crazy amount of comment from friends, friends of friends and others. And one particular comment from a friend of mine saying: "why don't you start a Youtube Channel?" ... at first i was like "nah" coz i know sooo many people already doing it and i don't have enough confidence that time to start one.. After a month or so i thought about the comment again and i was "meh" (shrug my shoulder) and just do it... And posted my first youtube make-up tutorial video on April 2010... from that time till now im making more and more friends and learning a lot more about make-up.
From that i gained friends here in new york, my first make-up gig was a wedding of friend of friends of mine. Followed by birthdays, Halloween make-ups and Proms... My Youtube Channel definitely help me a lot to get make-up gig locally and most of all making new friends. Last March 2011 i attended a hands-on make up training in California and got certified.
